Like, Slurs aren’t just “mean names” you know? Slurs are slurs for a reason. Slurs are words with long painful histories. Slurs are words weighed down with death, pain, sadness, loss. You can’t just throw them around to show how edgy you are, how much you don’t care. If you feel like you’ve just gotta toss out a slur to make your point then tbh you’re argument obviously isn’t strong enough to stand on its own.
There is never an appropriate time to use a slur that doesn’t belong to you. If you’ve got no claim to a word then keep it out of your damn mouth
In America, poverty is a death sentence and Donald Trump and the Republican Party are slowly repealing The Affordable Care Act, making healthcare unaffordable once again. We need Medicare For All, and we need it now. No one should die because they can’t afford overpriced, profitized healthcare.
These are some of the people who needlessly died, just because they couldn’t afford healthcare. Unfortunately, as long as conservative politicians control congress, they won’t be the last.
Healthcare in the US is ridiculous. I was seeing a cousellor for my depression and anxiety when I lost my Medicaid due to my age and that I quit college. I couldn’t continue seeing my cousellor after that, and still can’t find affordable insurance. It’s been over a year.

“What I’m seeing from being very deep into tumblr is that the gaze has become so academic and hypercritical that everyone’s afraid to do anything. The only way to never be “problematic” is effectively to be silent. Added to that, there’s a lot of radical feminism (not “extreme feminism” but a specific ideology separate from mainstream/liberal feminism) which is more Victorian and focuses on blaming women for the patriarchy because they weren’t perfect moral guardians. This means that all fiction is expected to serve an aspirational/inspirational function, rather than other functions stories could have, like excitement, catharsis, exploring darker parts of the psyche, etc. This means that we’re seeing a resurgence of the Utopian genre of fiction which was popular with women writers in the Victorian era, which basically exists to posit an ideal society, and equal parts inspire you to aspire towards it, and shame you for not being that perfect yet. Utopian/aspirational fiction isn’t all bad–that’s what Star Trek was, after all. But as the sole form of acceptable writing, I find that incredibly limiting.”
